Smoked Salmon Pate 

Shopping list

200grms smoked salmon (cheaper trimmings are fine)

200grms smooth plain cream cheese

1 lemons juiced

1 Tbls horseradish sauce (optional)

Half tsp ground white pepper

150grms very soft butter (diced)

1 tsp paprika (or sweet smoked)

1 tsp cracked black pepper

How to make

Roughly mix all ingredients in a mixing bowl with a wooden spoon, then place in food processor in two batches until smooth, creamy and paste like.

Place in an airtight container (or  dish and cling wrap) and chill for 2 hours. This will last for a week easily in your fridge. Simply serve with some toasted rye or ciabatta.

Recipe Tips

1. Use this mousse as a filling for a smoked salmon roullade....

Makes for a great party trick!

2. Try on toasted ciabatta or rye with fresh tomato, spring onions and basil. Finish off with a splash of olive oil, freshly squeezed lemon and cracked black pepper.

 A contemporary breakfast twist.... Enjoy.
